A few weeks ago I noticed a new lump under my jaw. My doctor thought it might be a blocked salivary gland, but a biopsy revealed lymphoma. He wasn’t sure what to do next. He told me he didn’t want to take me off the trial, but he needed more information about what was happening. He might be able to add radiation to my treatment, or it might be time to look into other options. Either way, we needed to peek inside my body. Continue reading “Update”

Faces of Hope
I got asked to write a blurb for the Hope Lodge about my experience there. They choose someone each week for their ‘Faces of Hope’ Facebook segment. I asked them exactly what they were looking for. Eady, a volunteer, showed me her post about her experience with cancer and her work with the American Cancer Society. Another volunteer, Celeste, said with a shrug, “write whatever you want.”

Astoria
The day was hot and bright. I was making my way to LaGuardia airport. After I walked down the stairs from the subway platform, I headed towards a tree stump near the statue in Columbus Triangle. Continue reading “Astoria”

I’d been reading about Parkour lately.

Bloggity Blog Blog
I haven’t written anything more than a sentence in nearly a week. Nor published a blog in a month. That’s not to say I haven’t tried. I’ve attempted several blogs, but quit midway through.
I want to get back in the habit, but how does one accomplish that?
Batter Up!

The last time I was up in New York, Roger (Will’s uncle) took me to a baseball game. It was the first Major League game I’d seen. I got to watch the Yankees cream the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium.
As a first timer, here were my impressions.
Safety First
This morning, I turned around as I was tapped on the shoulder. An older woman behind me told me I should close the zipper on the small pocket on my backpack. She could see my wallet.
I thanked her. As I sat down and waited for my appointment, I remembered something similar from my last trip up to NYC.
It’s a Blog!
After thinking about it for over a year, I’ve finally birthed a blog.
